The Nigerian Defence Academy – NDA was established on 5 February 1964 in response to the defence needs of independent Nigeria to train officers for the Armed Forces of Nigeria. Before then, the institution was known as the Royal Military Forces Training College (RMFTC). After independence in 1960, it became known as the Nigerian Military Training College.
The Nigerian Defence Academy Kaduna academic programmes are carefully tailored to meet the needs of the Nigerian Armed Forces within the context of standards required of Nigerian Universities. There is also Postgraduate School which offers courses leading to the award of Postgraduate Diplomas, Masters and Doctorate Degrees in some Departments in the 4 Faculties. The post graduate program is open to both civilians and members of the armed forces.
